On Friday 18th November, the children participated in a special ‘fancy dress up day’ to support the British Broadcasting Corporation’s (BBC) annual telethon to raise vital funds for Children in Need, to help improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the United Kingdom. Thank you to all those that contributed to the cause.
Last week, the Year 3 children visited the Look Out Discovery Centre in Bracknell. The children thoroughly enjoyed the trip as it involved a hands-on approach to science with over 90 activities for the children to explore! Apart from exploring, the children also had the opportunity to view a Fire and Light show. The show reinforced the children’s understanding of the different sources of light on our planet. Furthermore, the show also taught the children about fire and how chemicals can react with each other.
On Thursday 3rd November, parents, guardians, carers and specially invited guests gathered to see and take part in our annual Pupil Leadership Pinning Ceremony. At Hewens Primary school, we value the power of pupil leadership and pupil voice, as we recognise the importance of developing active citizens to lead the next generation.
