  • Ten Pin Bowling Competition

    On Wednesday 14th December 2022, six children from Key Stage 2 were selected to represent our School at the West London Ten Pin bowling qualifier to qualify for the final in February. Although we are the reigning champions, we did not qualify for the final this time round.

    Congratulations to the children who represented our school! Hopefully, we can qualify next year!

  • Holiday Activity & Food (HAF) Programme

    There are still places available for families to book their children onto the Holiday Activity & Food (HAF) Winter programme organized by the Local Authority. Their holiday programme is open to school-aged children from reception to year 11 (inclusive) who receive benefits-related free school meals

    Through their programme of free healthy food and fun activities, children and young people can develop new skills, take part in creative and physical activities, learn about food and cooking, and enjoy a nutritious meal each day. 

    Activities this winter include: 

    • Learn to ride a bike or develop your cycling skills 
    • Football, Cricket, Basketball and multi-sports 
    • Parent and child cookery sessions 
    • Dance, drama and arts programmes 
    • Multi-activity camps 
    • SEND activity camp

  • Christmas Carolling Assemblies

    This week our pupils hosted Christmas Carolling Assemblies for their parents, guardians and carers. This festive occasion saw children from Nursery to Year 6 singing joyfully and dancing to their favourite carols. To a fully packed hall the children beamed from ear to ear as they entertained family members.

  • Road Safety Week

    The Little Acorns have been learning about how to stay safe on the roads this term, especially as we head further into the winter months. Last week was all about raising awareness of key areas of road safety and the children taking part in an interactive activity where they learnt to ‘stop, look, listen, think and cross’.

    Children acted out being drivers and pedestrians and they helped each other to cross the road safely.

    On Friday 18th November, the children participated in a special ‘fancy dress up day’ to support the British Broadcasting Corporation’s (BBC) annual telethon to raise vital funds for Children in Need, to help improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the United Kingdom.   • The Look Out Discovery Centre

    Last week, the Year 3 children visited the Look Out Discovery Centre in Bracknell. The children thoroughly enjoyed the trip as it involved a hands-on approach to science with over 90 activities for the children to explore! Apart from exploring, the children also had the opportunity to view a Fire and Light show. The show reinforced the children’s understanding of the different sources of light on our planet. Furthermore, the show also taught the children about fire and how chemicals can react with each other.
