  • Design Technology in Year 2

    Throughout the term, Year 2 pupils have had great enjoyment from working with a range of materials and tools to assemble items such as slides, swings, climbing walls, and see-saws. During their learning journey, they have skillfully applied prior mathematical knowledge, including concepts related to 3D shapes and measurements, as well as their Year 1 scientific understanding of materials. Impressively, the pupils have also demonstrated awareness of the safety aspects associated with designing equipment for their peers.   • Summer Reading Challenge Success!

    On Monday 2nd October, our school welcomed our friend from Hillingdon Libraries to talk to the pupils about the Summer Reading Challenge! We had a record number of 175 pupils join the Summer Reading Challenge, making us one of the top schools in the Borough for participating! We are aiming to sign up over 300 pupils for next year’s Summer Reading Challenge! Well done to all the pupils who took part!

  • World Space Week

    World Space Week is an annual event that takes place from 4th - 10th October each year. It is the largest public space– related event in the world and it aims to celebrate and promote space science and technology and the contributions of space exploration to humanity. It provides an opportunity for people to learn about space, its scientific significance and its potential for future developments in technology, science and international cooperation.     We are thrilled to announce the completion of our brand-new Early Years Playground. Our commitment to providing a safe and stimulating environment for our youngest learners has led us to create a space where children can explore, learn and grow through play. Our playground is fully inclusive and has been designed with accessible pathways and equipment for all. The children now have the opportunity to engage in activities that stimulate their senses, including sensory gardens, textured pathways and a musical play area

  • Roald Dahl Day Celebration

    To celebrate the life of one of the most popular children’s book authors of all time, we had a themed day with pupils dressing up as their favourite Roald Dahl book character. To further promote a love for reading, pupils travelled around school, visiting different classes, where they were read a chapter from a Roald Dahl book. For most of the pupils, it was their first time visiting a different year group!

    Last week, our pupils participated in our annual Alliance Challenge, representing their respected Alliances: Aldrin, Columbus, Garret Anderson and MacArthur. The theme for this year was: ‘It’s our planet’. The Alliance Challenge consisted of two competitions, which were the Poetry Competition and Choir Competition. It was amazing to hear and see the creativity that went into the songs and poems all linked to protecting the environment

    We are thrilled to share that the Snow-White production, brought to life by our talented Drama Club, captivated parents, guardians and carers on 10th July 2023. The performance was nothing short of magical, with the cast and crew delivering an enchanting rendition of this timeless fairytale. The stage came alive with vibrant sets, intricate costumes and breathtaking performances that transported the audience into the enchanting world of Snow White. Well done to everyone!

  • Hillingdon’s Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) Programme Summer 2023

    Hillingdon’s Summer HAF programme will be delivered from Monday 31st July to Friday 25th August. Booking is open now!

    Through their programme of free healthy food and fun activities, children and young people can develop new skills, take part in creative and physical activities, learn about food and cooking, and enjoy a nutritious meal each day.

    The holiday programme, funded by the Department for Education, is open to school-aged children from reception to year 11 (inclusive) who receive benefits-related free school meals. We are also able to provide a limited number of discretionary places to vulnerable children that do not meet the Free School Meal criteria,

     

    if you would like for a child you are supporting to be considered for a HAF place, please email HAFprogramme@hillingdon.gov.uk with the child's name, date of birth, address and parent contact details.

     

    Activities this Summer include:

    • Learn to ride a bike or develop your cycling skills
    • Football, Cricket, Basketball, Taekwondo and multi-sports
    • Parent and child cookery sessions
    • Dance, drama and arts programmes
    • Multi-activity camps
    • Remote Control car racing
    • Coding activities
    • SEND activity camps
    • Specialist music and drama programmes for asylum/refugee children
