Toys from the Past Workshop

On Friday 25th April 2025, Reception pupils were delighted to welcome a special visitor from Chertsey Museum, who brought along a fascinating collection of toys from the past. The children had the opportunity to view toys that were up to 100 years old! They explored the different materials used to make toys, the
various ways toys move, and compared them to the toys we have today. Historically, toys were primarily made of wood and metal, whereas modern toys are mostly made of plastic. This workshop
significantly contributed to our pupils’ knowledge of the topic, ‘Understanding the World - Past and Present’, as we examined and contrasted toys from different eras. Thank you, Chertsey Museum, for providing such an educational experience!
