Cookie Making – Year 2 New News Story

On Thursday 23rd April, our Year 2 pupils took part in an exciting Design and Technology project, baking their very own cookies as part of their Geography topic, Chocolate. The pupils learnt about where cocoa comes from and explored the lives of cocoa farmers, including those in Ghana, helping them understand the journey food takes from farm to table. As part of the project, pupils designed eye catching packaging, developing their skills in planning, evaluating and presenting their ideas. They then carefully followed a recipe, practising safe measuring and mixing techniques in the kitchen. This hands on project was a wonderful blend of creativity and practical learning, while deepening their understanding of food origins and global connections.
