St George’s Day

Last Thursday, 23rd April 2026, was celebrated as St George’s Day nationally and certainly within our school. Both pupils and staff alike donned the colours of red and white in recognition of England’s patron saint. This themed day gave pupils a pep in their step as they reflected on English traditions and embraced our current diverse society. The story of St George slaying the dragon also provided a meaningful opportunity for reflection, reminding us of the importance of courage and standing up for what is right. As a school community, we linked this to our shared responsibility to challenge and “slay” the dragon of discrimination in all its forms, promoting unity, respect and inclusion for everyone.
