Great Plague and Fire of London Workshop

On Tuesday, 11th November 2025, the Year 2 pupils took part in an exciting and immersive workshop all about the Great Fire of London. As part of their History topic - creatively linked with Art, English, and Science - they explored the dramatic sequence of events beginning with the outbreak of the Black Plague in 1665. Through lively role-play and storytelling, the children stepped into the shoes of key characters from the time, helping them understand how and why the fire started, the challenges faced by the people of London, and the efforts made to stop the flames from spreading. They also learnt how the fire was eventually brought under control. The workshop truly brought history to life and sparked curiosity, imagination, and thoughtful discussion back in the classroom.
