Fourteen pupils, accompanied by staff, departed at 5:45am and returned safely at 9:10pm, tired but full of wonderful experiences.

During the trip, pupils explored a variety of cultural and historical sites. Highlights included a visit to Napoleon’s Column and Museum, a stop at Boulogne’s bustling fish market, and the fascinating Egyptian display in the town centre. They also had the opportunity to see the stunning Basilica of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception.

The group enjoyed a traditional French lunch at a local restaurant and later observed kite surfing along the coast before beginning their return journey to the UK. This enriching trip gave pupils the chance to experience French culture first-hand, broaden their knowledge of history, and create lasting memories with their classmates.

Children arrived dressed as their favourite Roald Dahl characters – from Willy Wonka to the BFG – and the creativity on display was truly remarkable. A heartfelt thank you goes to all the parents, guardians and carers who supported with costumes and encouraged their children to take part. The day was filled with joy and served as a wonderful reminder of the power of stories to spark curiosity, imagination and a love of reading.
