Christmas Tree Trimming Assemblies - Early Years and Key Stage 1 13/12/21

On Thursday 2nd December, the children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 were afforded the opportunity to decorate the Christmas Tree with their handmade decorations that were completed in class during their Design and Technology session. To their surprise, Father Christmas and Frosty the Snowman made a grand entrance and both characters spread the much needed Christmas spirit in the assembly. The children had the opportunity to sing Christmas carols and danced with both Frosty and Father Christmas. It was a mystery who these characters were but in an attempt to reveal the surprise, a naughty Grinch exposed the masked identities. Little did they know that the Headteacher was Frosty and Toby’s grandad was Father Christmas!

Parents, guardians and carers also had the opportunity to participate in the event whilst maintaining a safe distance from the children. They felt proud to watch the children perform their class Christmas carols then decorate the Christmas tree. It was a joyful and festive event which ignited the spirit of Christmas. ‘Tis the season to be jolly!
